More paint colors for 2014

Here is another Houzz article about popular paint colors for 2014.  This article has quite a few more options showcased than the article I linked to previously.

The hues are fantastic in my opinion and are giving me ideas to repaint my office/craft room, which is currently a camel color that I’ve grown tired of.

I’m thinking of using something similar to the Valspar Winter in Paris as an overall color and then adding an accent color of Valspar Night Scape.  This is a room that you see when you first walk into my house so I’d really like to make it look unique but without being too trendy.

China Cabinet Update (Sooooo Late, I know)

Susan's phone March, 2013 683

After trying each of these different wrapping papers out, I chose the top one shown above.

Design Chosen!

This was super easy.  I used removable poster tape so when I take it down later there shouldn’t be any damage.

And here is the final product!  Well…not exactly final since I don’t have everything put back into the cabinet in this picture.  I guess I got impatient in my picture taking.

I think this was a big improvement over having it plain.  I’ve seen this exact china cabinet painted and it looked pretty nice, however I think I will leave mine in it’s original state and spruce up the interior now and then for a little character which can easily be changed.  I bought this at a consignment shop a few years ago and fell in love with it just the way it is!

Cool Finds

China Cabinet Project

China Cabinet Project

In an effort to put some of the many ideas I’ve found on Pinterest to good use, I went shopping today and found these 3 contenders for wrapping paper that I plan to place on the back panel of the china cabinet you see in the background.  I also found the cool picture frame for 1/2 off and decided I need more color in my life.  It’s going to look great hanging in my office.

My china cabinet seems so dark that you can hardly make out some of the things I’ve got in there so I’m thinking something light will definitely help.  It’s hard to see in the picture but the middle contender is a light tan paper that has a pretty little repeating design of white circles with flowers inside the circle.  It also has a dab of silver glitter inside the center of each repeating design.  Not sure how I feel about the glitter yet.

I’m thinking the blue design is too busy.

I am liking the brown with the black design though, very pretty.

It’s a toss-up between the really light colored one in the middle and the brown with the black design.  Which do you prefer?
